It’s always on your mind; sex, Sex, SEX!
Addiction means you cannot get along without it. You’ll do or say just about anything to get that high, that kick, that your habit requires. Addictions afflict many people at various times in their life. Consequently, everyone seems to know of at least one person in their immediate circle with an addiction. However, one of the most common and yet least treated is an obsession with sex. This can be a physical or even a mental craving so intense that you literally can’t do anything else.
Statistics say men think of sex every five minutes, on average. Yet you’re *always* thinking of sex, pursuing sex, performing sex, or watching sex in some way. You can’t seem to get away from it, not that you’ve made a major effort to do so. How can it be bad, when it feels so good? Nonetheless, you consult your doctor about your fixation after people you value make some pointed comments.
Addiction needs treatment: the doctor will see you now
You’re referred to Dr. Linda for treatment, and show up on time for your appointment. She has you take a seat on her comfy couch and she sits across from you in a wingback chair. You’re nervous and don’t even realize how much until you hear yourself say, “What’s up, Doc?” She smiles at you and says, “From what I hear, YOU usually are. Shall we discuss that?” Immediately, your mind fills with images of Dr. Linda naked, while your twig becomes an oaken branch. Or maybe it’s a tent peg, given how your trousers look now.
“Yeah, I think about sex all the time,” you manage to mumble. “And it’s interfering with your ‘normal’ life?” the doctor asks. “Not exactly,” you say, “I’ve structured my life to accommodate my sexual preoccupation.” She smiles again, and your eyes linger on her plump lips, imagining how good they’d feel all over your body.
For once, the cure may be better than the disease
You spend the rest of the hour talking about how often you masturbate, watch porn, chase tail and sexually daydream. Dr. Linda makes several notes, but you’re fascinated by watching how often her pen is in her mouth. She licks, sucks, and sometimes chews on it, when she’s not writing with it. Your throbbing has increased and you’re afraid you’ll have a noticeable wet spot soon.
If this sounds like a fun topic for a session, then Dr. Linda is waiting to hear from you!
